The primary source for the searchable ticker directory and corporate insider disclosures. Each imported transaction links to its original Form 4, with its reported trade date and public filing time. Company Financials also reads standard SEC XBRL facts, preserving reporting periods, units and links to the underlying filings.

Companies labeled DEMO are fictional. Their transactions are synthetic Form 4 fixtures processed through the same parser, classifier, and scoring engine. The dashboard’s charts describe those fixtures; they are not real market or investment claims.
The parser test suite also contains saved original SEC XML filings from AMD and Starbucks, with documented source URLs and acceptance timestamps. Sample-record links are explicitly distinct from primary SEC filing links.

Market-price data
The background price service works through supported securities using the configured Alpaca feed in the local preview. Each price shows its date and source. These are delayed daily closes, not live quotes; some symbols or historical periods may be unavailable.
Prices are restricted to local research unless their source permits public display. Free access does not establish a redistribution license. Unavailable prices stay empty, and share classes are kept separate when comparing insider purchases.
Indicators use validated saved daily bars and completed weekly bars. CSV imports remain supported, including the original Alpha Vantage IBM demonstration sample. Gaps, discontinuities and insufficient history can prevent a calculation.

Official House & Senate trading disclosures
The worker reads the House Clerk's annual directory and original Periodic Transaction Report PDFs, and the Senate eFD site's electronic Periodic Transaction Reports, in scheduled, bounded batches when enabled. The current environment exposes 7,159 reported transactions across 632 parsed reports and 135 reported member names (5,319 House, 1,840 Senate).
Owners, transaction types, monetary ranges, filing dates, and source links remain attached to each row. Missing tickers and unsupported reports stay explicit. Neither index proves when a report first became public, so availability starts when this app first retrieves it. Party is left unknown when not supplied by the source.
Both sources require accepting a statutory disclosure-use statement (5 U.S.C. § 13107) before public release. The site owner approved public display of both for this free, non-commercial research site with weekly news articles (House: 2026-09-29, Senate: 2026-10-04). Local preview environments may still hold unapproved records for testing; only approved records appear in the public views above.
Disclosure timing stays separate from transaction timing
Contract searches read the Treasury’s USAspending API. Award obligations are lifetime commitments, not company revenue. Lobbying searches read the official LDA API, preserving separate reports, amendments, income and expense fields.
These connectors use fixed source endpoints, bounded requests, caching and provider-aware throttling. Original source links and retrieval dates remain visible. The lobbying page includes the source’s required attribution and analysis disclaimer.
News cards use the Federal Reserve’s official RSS feed, with headline, category, date and a link to the original announcement. This is a focused policy and banking feed, not a complete financial newsroom.
Original SEC filings supply dated 13F tables, compatible quarter-to-quarter comparisons, structured 13D/G ownership stakes and supported executive compensation facts. Every reader keeps the selected report and its limitations visible.
Quantity changes are not exact trades; overlapping ownership reports are not added together. Proxy compensation totals and SEC compensation actually paid are separate reporting measures, not cash take-home pay. Missing or unsupported facts remain unavailable.
FEC candidate summaries describe campaign receipts and spending. Congress.gov provides bill titles and dated legislative actions. These are official records, not personal wealth estimates or predictions of stock performance.
Local development searches use a shared, persistent request allowance. Public searches require separately configured free API keys. No donor records or roll-call vote dataset are imported.
Strategy Lab calculates hypothetical rule results from eligible saved history. Paper Portfolio estimates the value of share lots entered by the user. Neither is a brokerage account, a public official’s actual portfolio, or a claim of future returns.
The strategy engine uses next-session execution, modeled costs and a matching SPY session calendar. Price returns exclude dividends. Manual lots require the user to confirm their exact listing and current share basis; missing or unsafe prices are excluded from estimates.
If source fetching fails, the last preserved data remains available with its original timestamps. If the database is unavailable, the interface shows an error. Production data is never silently replaced by synthetic examples.
Institutional holdings and fundamentals are not inputs to the current 60/35/5 research model. Source coverage and permission to display a dataset are checked separately from whether its parser exists.
Senate eFD reports are fetched and parsed incrementally under an accepted access agreement; no official full-directory index exists, so completeness is not claimed.
Counts describe the current source scope. Pending reports, restricted sources and unmatched securities remain gaps; they do not count as “nobody traded.”

These are the SEC directory's mappings, not every global tradable instrument. A directory-only company has an unavailable score. A loaded company's zero means no qualifying purchases in its imported evidence; it does not establish an absence of buying. Explore the market directory
