Insider & congressional trading trackers compared

Facts checked on September 27, 2026 from each service’s public pages

Whale Atlas is free with no sign-up, shows SEC Form 4 insider trades and U.S. House and Senate members’ stock trades together, and links every trade to its original government filing.

Paid services offer features Whale Atlas does not, such as options-flow data and alerts. If you mainly want to see who is buying and selling, and check it against the source, Whale Atlas gives you that for free.

When Whale Atlas is a good fit

  • You want the largest disclosed insider and congressional buys and sells in one ranked list, updated automatically.
  • You want to check every number against the original filing on SEC EDGAR, the House Clerk or the Senate eFD website.
  • You don’t want to create an account or pay a subscription.

When another service may fit better

  • You need options-flow, dark-pool or real-time alert features (offered by some paid services).
  • You need Senate trades today (Whale Atlas currently covers the House).
